Burgess House is our premium student accommodation in Newcastle, consisting of 110 studios with personal fitted kitchen and en suite bathroom.
The building has a range of communal facilities including onsite gymnasium, state of the art cinema room and communal area with games facilities. Burgess House also 24 hour CCTV and onsite management team.
Centrally located in Newcastle, Burgess House is close to both universities, Newcastle Train Station and a great choice of local bars, restaurants and amenities.
Burgess House also provides a limited number of parking spaces for students. This is currently charged at £10 per week.

Students do not have to pay Council Tax, but you must inform the council that your are a student and apply for exemption as this does not automatically happen. It is the responsibility of every student to apply for exemption, your University/College or accommodation provider cannot do this for you, though we can help you!
You only need to provide a UK-based guarantor if you wish to pay your rent in three installments. You do not need to provide a guarantor if you’re paying the full annual rent in advance. International students will need to provide a UK based guarantor if paying in installments, otherwise full payment is required.
Yes, each room has content insurance with Endsleigh. For more info please go to ‘Documents’ section.
It is a student’s own responsibility to clean their room. The stairs and hallways outside the flats (communal areas) are cleaned on a regular basis by our cleaners. At the end of the tenancy, flats must be returned in good condition or additional charges may be levied.
Yes utility bill are included, along with broadband and WIFI internet.
If you wish to extend your contract please speak to your accommodations manager. You can extend your contract for the next academic year on your MyFortis account.
No, unless you are able to find a replacement tenant, as defined in the Terms and Conditions of your Offer.
At the end of your stay with us, you will be invited to organise a check out inspection of your flat/room with the Hospitality Team on your site. This is your opportunity to discuss with the Team any damages and agree any charges if applicable. If you are unable to attend a check out inspection, you will be able to take advantage of our fast-track check out and the flat inspection will be conducted in your absence.
